All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is to examine an advocate’s capability to practice the profession of law in India. The AIBE will assess skills at a basic level and is intended to set a minimum benchmark for admission to the practice of law. It addresses a candidate’s analytical abilities and understanding basic knowledge of law. Certificate of Practice will be awarded by the Bar Council of India to the candidate after passing this examination.
AIBE Registration / Application Form
Law graduated students can apply for this exam. Eligible and interested candidates may apply through online registration process available on website www.alindiabarexamination.com Application fees for the AIBE exam is Rs. 1900/- + Rs. 50/- as Bank Charges. Candidates can also apply through offline process. OMR application forms will be available at every State Bar Council across India.

Category I (Part I of the Paper):-
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Civil Procedure Code and Limitation Act
Contract Law, including Specific Relief, Special Contracts, and Negotiable Instruments
Criminal Law I: The Indian Penal Code
Drafting, Pleading, and Conveyancing
Professional Ethics and the Professional Code of Conduct for Advocates
Category II (Part II of the Paper):
Administrative Law in Category II
Human Rights Law
Labour and Industrial Law
Law of Tort, including Motor Vehicle Accidents, and Consumer Protection Law
Principles of Taxation Law
Public International Law
Candidates will be answering questions from twenty subjects. The subjects are taken from the syllabi prescribed by the Bar Council of India for the three-year and five-year L.L.B. programmes at law schools in India. The subjects are divided into two categories.
The Examination paper will contain at least 7 questions from each ‘Category I’ subject. The paper will also have 23 questions from the ‘Category II’ subjects as a whole. These twenty-three questions will include questions from at least 5 Category II subjects. Category I subjects will be tested in Part I of the question paper and Category II subjects will be tested in Part II of the question paper.
