Amrita Entrance Exam

Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering is conducted every year in various cities across the country for admission to the B.Tech. programmes at its three Schools of Engineering of Amrita University located at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore.

Eligibility Criteria:-

Age - Candidates shall be born on or after 1st July 1993.

Educational Qualification - A pass in the Higher Secondary (Plus Two) examination of a recognised Board or its equivalent, securing 60% or above marks in Mathematics, 55% or above separately in Physics and Chemistry with an aggregate of minimum 60% in the three subjects.

A three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education or its equivalent.

Those who appear for the above examinations in March / April 2014 may also apply.


Amrita Entrance Exam Registration / Application Form

Application form will be in a format that can be processed by Optical Mark Reader(OMR).

Cost of Application kit is Rs. 850/-, which covers the cost of Application form, University Brochure, Examination fee etc. Application fee once paid will not be refunded.

Application forms can be obtained as below

In person from the University counter of Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore on producing a Demand Draft for  Rs 850/- drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

From the designated branches of Post Office, Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd., Federal Bank, AXIS Bank, and Karur Vysya Bank on payment of   Rs. 850/-. Click here to view the branches.

Semi - Online Application : Apply through University website (No Internet banking facility required).

Take a printout (Laser or inkjet only) of the completed application on a good quality A4 size paper; enclose a demand draft for  Rs. 850/- drawn in fovour of Amrita School of Engineering Payable at Coimbatore; paste a recent passport size colour photograph; affix signature of Candidate & Parent / Guardian and send in good quality envelope to the address below. (For details, see Amrita OARS instructions for login).

Candidate should write his / her Name and "B.Tech. Application" on the back of the Demand Draft. Please keep a photocopy of the filled-in application and Demand Draft for future reference.

Online Application : Apply through the University Website (Internet banking facility required).

    Note: Candidate should have
    1. Softcopy of recently taken passport size colour photograph.
    2. Softcopy of signature of Candidate and Parent / Guardian.
    3. Internet banking facility.

Printout of the computer generated application can be retained by the candidate for reference.

Candidate should write his / her Name and "B.Tech. Application" on the back of the Demand Draft.

Paper Pattern

The duration of the Examination is 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM). There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. The question booklet will be in English. Each question carries 3 marks. Negative mark (-1) will be awarded for each wrong answer.

Subject Combination :

Mathematics - 60 questions
Physics -    30 questions
Chemistry - 30 questions

Total No. of Questions -120 questions

Total Marks  ( 120 x 3 ) - 360 marks
