Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education or a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII. Eligible candidates may apply for this exam through online.

For Class I to IV teachers, candidate needs to be 10+2 passed with minimum 50% marks and 2 yrs Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. and for Class V to VIII teachers, candidate needs to be graduate with 2 yrs Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed.
 


CTET Registration / Application Form

Candidates need to apply for the exam through online process only. Forms will be available on official website www.ctet.nic.in Registering fees for CTET is as follow:

Paper I or II: Rs. 500/- for General/ OBC (Rs. 250/- for reserved category)
Both Papers: Rs. 800/- for General/ OBC (Rs. 400/- for reserved category)

CTET Syllabus

Below is the list of topics included in the syllabus of CTET exam:

Paper 1 (Primary Stage):-

• Child Development and Pedagogy
• Language I.
• Language II
• Mathematics
• Environmental Studies

Paper II (Elementary Stage): -

• Child Development and Pedagogy
• Language I.
• Language II
• 1. Mathematics and Science
• 2. Pedagogical issues
• Social Studies/Social Sciences

Paper Pattern

All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answer.

CTET exam includes two paper:-

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Paper I & II both will be of one and a half hours which includes 150 multiple choice questions.

To crack CTET below are some tips for preparation:

• Collect all the study material properly before starting your preparation.
• Candidate should have thorough knowledge of pattern paper, accordingly start the studies.
• Set a daily timetable, divide your time equal for every subjects. Give more time on weak subjects.
• Revision is most important. See to it that the topics completed studying are being revised.
• For queries, take experts guidance.
