Every year, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management (NMIMS) selects the best candidates for its Post Graduate Management courses through its entrance exam NMAT. It is a compulsory aptitude test for candidates who are keen to opt for post graduate management courses in NMIMS.
The institute offers a wide range of MBA programmes in both general and specialized areas of management.NMAT is generally conducted for courses like MBA, MBA (Capital Marketing, Banking and Pharmaceutical Management) and other post graduate diploma programmes. Designed to meet the requirements of the industry these courses are known for their classroom learning and hands on practical experience.  The exam has its influence on all three campuses of NMIMS i.e. Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. 
Considered as a gateway to the one of the best B-school in India this exam is unique as it:
• allows you to schedule the date and time of the test as per your convinence.
• allows you a maximum of three attempts (in such case the best of your three scores is considered for admission. 
NMIMS also admits foriegn students and persons of indian origin (PIO) to its programmes. These students are admitted on the basis of GMAT score. 
Eligibility for NMAT 2015:
For MBA, MBA (Banking) and MBA (Capital Market)
Full time bachelors degree [10+2+3/4] (graduation) from a recognized university in India with minimum aggregate of 50 % marks in the first attempt. 
For MBA (HR)
Full time bachelors degree [10+2+3/4] (graduation) from a recognized university in India with minimum aggregate of 50 % marks in the first attempt.  
MBA (Pharmaceutical Management)
• Full time bachelors degree [10+2+3/4] Pharmacy, Science, Life Sciences, Medical doctors MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, B.Sc. and Biotechnology from a UGC recognized university with minimum aggregate of 50 % marks in the first attempt. 
• B.Tech or B.E in Bio-Tech and Bio- Medical are eligible to apply. 
•Candidates working in Pharmaceutical Companies for more than two years are preferred.
PGDM (Bengaluru and Hyderabad)
Full time bachelors degree [10+2+3/4] (graduation) from a recognized university in India with minimum aggregate of 50 % marks in the first attempt. 
[Those candidates who have completed their graduation through distance learning or part time are not eligible to apply for NMAT 2015].

NMAT Registration / Application Form

NMAT 2015 Registration and Application Procedure
An aspirant who wishes to pursue a post graduate course in management in NMIMS, must register online for NMAT 2015 by filling the online NMAT form. The application form can be obtained from the official website. Since NMIMS offers a wide range of post graduate management programmes, so, candidates are required to provide their preferences in terms of the course/courses of study.
Post submission of personal details and payment of application fee a student will be provided with his or her NMAT ID and password through mail. After this, student should log in to his/her e-mail address provided for registration and validate the e-mail received by him/her from NMAT by logging in again.
Students must retain the NMAT ID and password as both will be required in future for downloading the NMAT admit card. Then, they will be asked to download and print the NMAT pay slip on A4 size paper. 
The printed pay slip of NMAT is needed to proceed further by candidate in order to get the bank’s seal. 
If a candidate is opting for a single course i.e. either full time MBA or PGDM, then the registration fee is Rs. 1650. And, if he/she is keen on pursuing both the courses then the application fee is Rs 2000/-.

Admission procedure 
  • Stage 01: NMAT exam
  • Stage 02: Case discussion (CD), Personal Interview (PI) and written test
  • Stage 03: Evaluation of academic performance and relevant work experience.

NMAT Syllabus

There is no set syllabus for the exam but questions will be asked from common subjects such as analytical reasoning and decision making, logical reasoning and data interpretation. The test will also include basic english i.e. reading comprehension, verbal ability and verbal reasoning. 



Paper Pattern

NMAT 2015 Paper Pattern 

NMAT 2015 exam will be a computer based test. The duration will be 2 hours i.e. exact 120 minutes. The paper will be divided into three sections i.e. Language skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The good news for the aspirants is that there will no negative marking for incorrect responses. 

Subject - No. of Questions - Time in Minutes

  • Language Skills - 32 Qs  - 22 minutes

  • Quantitative Skills - 48 Qs - 60 minutes

  • Logical Reasoning - 40 Qs - 38 minutes

Total Questions:- 120

There is no other option than ‘Practice’ because Practice makes you perfect. Although, NMAT is bit easier than other management aptitude tests, but practicing sample papers will be of great help for you. In order to score more marks, get your basics clear. This  also serves with the English section. The more you practise the more you will be able to counter grammatical errors. Get comfortable with computer in order to avoid nervy moments, since many of us are more comfortable with paper based examination.

There are a total of 20 triangles.
Assuming smallest side of a triangle is 1 cms.
Number of triangles with side 1 cms: 12(1 + 5 + 5 +1)
Number of triangles with side 2 cms: 6(1 + 2(triangles facing upward), 1+2(triangles facing downward))
