RRB Group D Exam is conducted for non-gazetted technical and non-technical posts in Indian railways. Recruitment for Group C and Group D vacancies is done through respective railway recruitment boards or railway recruitment cells which is controlled by Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB). The exam is conducted for recruitment of individuals for railways services as well as workshops of various divisions. Recruitment notification for employment is issued by individual rail heads as well as various divisions under a Railway heads. As such candidates are required to apply for RRB Group D exam through their respective railway recruitment divisional office.The time period for applying is not less than 30 days. Applications received are scrutinized by the Board for Employment.
Eligibility required to appear for RRB Group D Exam:-
•10 Pass or ITI or relevant qualification.
• Ex-servicemen who have completed 15 years of service and possess an Army Class- I certificate or equivalent.
•Candidates who are appearing or awaiting results of class 10 exam are not eligible.
•Candidates aged between 18 and 33 years of age are eligible to apply.
Relaxations in age:-
SC/ST candidates: 05 years
OBC candidates: 03 years
Ex-servicemen: as per period of service.
Other relaxations in age will be as per government rules.
RRB Group D Exam Paper Pattern:-
The question paper for the written examination shall be of class 10 standard consisting of 100 multiple choice (four) objective type questions aimed to assess the General Knowledge/Awareness, Mathematics, General Science, Reasoning, etc.
The duration of the written examination shall be 90 (ninety) minutes.
The question paper shall be published in Hindi and English and also in regional languages.
Negative Marking - There will be negative marking for wrong answers. One third marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer. I.e. one mark shall be deducted for every 3 wrong answers.
RRB Group D Exam Syllabus:-
•General Knowledge and Awareness: Important events, important dates,current affairs and news related to politics, sports, business, Cinema, world affairs, books and authors.
•Mathematics: HCF, LCM, percentages, Problems based on trains, Time and Distance, Profit and Loss, Averages and Number systems.
• General Intelligence (Reasoning): Data interpretation, Series Problems, Age problems, Data insufficiency and arrangement Problems.
The Selection procedure consists of two levels
•Level 01: Level 01 consists of written examination. The date and time of the exam is published in employment notification. Eligible candidates are informed of date and center of the exam by call letter.
•Level 02: Successful candidates are then subjected to the second level of test that includes Phyiscal Efficiency Test (PET). PET is qualifying in nature
Final selection of candidates would be based on medical fitness test and document verification.
How to apply for RRB Group D Exam:
Application forms as per annexure I should be handwritten dated and stamped. The application form should be filled up in either English or Hindi and should be as per the instructions provided in the employment notification. Candidates should affix their normal signature in hindi or english in the application form. Applications signed in capital letters or spaced out will be treated as invalid. Application along with a demand draft or IPO and self attested copy of certificates should be sent to the office of the respective RRB.
