Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management (CIEM) is a Tertiary institution in Kolkata. The Institute was founded in the year 2003 with an aim to develop a Center for Excellence, by eminent educationalists, social workers and most importantly the Government of West Bengal.
It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
Applicants willing to seek admission in the institute can register through online or offline process. Application forms will be available on the official website of the institute.
The candidate must be a 10+2 passes out with PCM (physics + Chem + Maths) combination. Selection is based on candidate's performance in the Joint Entrance Examination and as per the norms stipulated by the AICTE and the State Government.
The institute holds the right to reserve 5% of the seats for JEE and/ or foreign students on the basis of AICTE norms.
The Institute with 5.08 acres of land has built up a huge infrastructure in the shape of lecture rooms, laboratory rooms, and a central library with other amenities. The campus includes college building, auditorium, separate hostels for girls and boys, staff quarters, library, laboratories, sports complex, etc which would help students to study in an academic environment.
The institute has successfully constructed a strong infrastructure to cater to the training needs of the students and provide them with a strong platform in respect to placement assistance in the industrial, technical and managerial fields.
The pass out batch has undergone vocational trainings at various reputed organizations such as BSNL, Siemens, DVC, TCS, Webel Informatics Ltd., IBM, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Tata Communications Ltd., NTPC, SAIL Power Co. Ltd., CESC Ltd., South Eastern Railways, Airport Authority of India, Air India Ltd., Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre, Metro Railways, WBPDCL, Durgapur Steel Plant, etc.
