Indian Institute of Forest Management is an autonomous institution in Bhopal that strives to develop and equip students with essential skills in the field of forest management. It was set up in the year 1982 by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
Being one of the premier forest management institutes, it offers two years, full time Post Graduate Diploma in Forest Management that is equivalent to MBA. Doctorate-level courses, management development programmes and summer internship are also conducted by the college.

Admission to the fully residential two year PGDFM is open to graduates from any discipline provided he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and qualifies through the selection proces
STEP-1: :Common Admission Test (CAT)
All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGDFM at IIFM have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs), by responding to their notification published in leading national dailies. IIFM will use the CAT score for short-listing the candidates for two year full time post graduate programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
STEP-2: IIFM Application Form:
In addition to CAT, the candidate should also fill-up a separate form for admission to PGDFM, which is available from IIFM Bhopal. The cost of IIFM application form is Rs. 900/- (450/- for SC/ ST) payable at Bhopal. This can be obtained either personally or by post. The application form can also be downloaded from our website and in that case, the completed application form should accompany the Demand Draft of the specified amount drawn in favour of “Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management” payable at Bhopal.
STEP-3: Group Discussion/Interview:
Candidates short listed on the basis of CAT score, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview during February/March 2013 based on the choice of candidates, as mentioned in the Application Form.
15%, 7.5%, 27% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, Non-Creamy-OBC and DA (also referred to as Persons with Disability) (PWD) respectively, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM.

Indian Institute of Forest Management is located on a picturesque hill in southwestern part of the Bhopal city. The campus is famous for its rich flora and fauna with views of various small sized wild animals and birds. The architect of the institute’s building is famous for its historical design. The institute has a good faculty student ratio and the very best infrastructure in terms of computing and library facilities. It is a fully residential course with 93 seats.
