Karunya University (formerly Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, KITS) is a Christian private university in Coimbatore that was established in the year 1986. It was set up as a Christian minority institution by the late D. G. S. Dhinakaran and his son Paul Dhinakaran. The institute is considered amongst India’s top 100 engineering colleges. It is accredited with AICTE (Govt. of India).
It offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in various engineering fields. Other postgraduate courses include Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Application (MCA), Master of Science (M.Sc.) in various fields, Master of Arts (M.A.) in English and various integrated (five year) M.Sc. programs. The institute also imparts Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.), as well as Ph.D and M.Phil. in core engineering and pure sciences.

Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE) - 2013 will be conducted by Karunya University in 60 locations across India on 27th April 2013 from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. KEE - 2013 is an objective type examination, in which questions will be covered from the +2 / HSC level subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry & General Aptitude and Christian Values / General Ethics. Appearance in KEE - 2013 is mandatory for admission to B.Tech. courses. The Admission for B.Tech. courses will be conducted at Karunya University Campus through Single Window Counseling. The Single Window Counseling will be held on 15, 16 & 17 May, 2013. NRI / International Candidates are exempted from writing KEE - 2013.
Karunya University is nestled on a 700 acre campus located at the foothills of High ranges 26 km (1hour by road from Coimbatore Airport). It has a Wi-Fi enabled campus and is accorded with modern infrastructure facilities. There are three hostels, out of which one is for girls. The computers lab has high speed internet connection. The class rooms have wireless LCD projectors that are permanently mounted.
