NIT (National Institute of Technology) in Calicut is a public engineering institute that was set up in the year 1961. It is considered as one of the National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance.

The institute offers courses leading to the degree of B.Tech in Bio-Technology, Bio-Medical, Ceramic, Civil, Chemical, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation, Industrial Design, Mechanical, Materials and Metallurgical, Mining. The institute also offers Post Graduate courses in Engineering & Science leading to the degree of M.Tech in various disciplines. Recently, dual degree courses on various disciplines have been introduced.

Facilities:

The campus is situated 22 km north-east of Kozhikode (Calicut) city on the Calicut – Mukkam Road. The institute features well maintained campus that has high-quality science labs, books and computer library, Conference halls and contemporary class rooms. There is a STD booth and ATM facilities for the students within the premises of college. Medical facilities are also provided to the students and teachers in case of emergencies. It also offers separate hostel facility for boys and girls.
