The Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) is a professional certification given by Institution of Engineers (India). The qualification can be earned by passing Section A, Project Work, Laboratory experiments and Section B examination of the Institution. The Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development considers this qualification equivalent to a degree in engineering. An applicant becomes an Associate of the Institution of Engineers (AIE) by passing this examination completely.
Eligibility for AMIE 2018 Exam:
Candidates having recognized 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or its equivalent, in any branch of engineering or +2/HSC/PDC with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with minimum 45% marks can apply for AMIE 2018.
A candidate shall be required to pass the Institution Examinations, both in Existing Scheme and Revised Scheme, within a specific period as mentioned hereunder :
Section A : 6 Years
Section B : 6 Years
AMIE Registration / Application Form
All members ie (Technicians/Senior Technicians and Associates) of institutions having valid membership can apply for AMIE examination. Individuals waiting for membership after submission of applications cannot apply for AMIE exam without a valid membership number. However persons with a membership number and waiting for their ID-card can apply for the exam. However you will be required to produce your ID-card at the examination hall.
AMIE 2018 examination fee:
a) AMIE examination fee is Rs 3000 (rupees two thousand only) for candidates appearing in any center in India
b) $ 225 (one hundred and fifty US dollars) for candidates appearing outside India).
This examination fee is irrespective of the number of subjects you appear at the time or the number of chances.
Mode of payment for AMIE application fee:
AMIE application fee is to be paid in the form of Demand draft drawn in favor of "The Institution of Engineers (India)" and payable at "Kolkata." Cheque/Money order will not be accepted.

AIME exams are held twice a year, called Summer and Winter examinations. There are two sections:
Section A - 3 papers
Section B - 5 papers
Each paper is of 3 hours and candidates can appear only limited number of papers at a time.

Daily spend some time to collect the required syllabus and notes. And Select the no. of subjects you are comfortable with. Do not try to divert your concentration on too much subjects. Go into the books just like you did for your 10th or university exams. Whether you know it or not but write something and try to attempt as much as possible. Try to Attempt questions you know very well first.
