Given below are details on Mysore University PhD Admission 2023-24 Notification with dates, its eligibility criteria and requirements. The University of Mysore offers Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in a wide range of subjects. Various departments under the University of Mysore as well as other Research and Academic institutions in Mysore, Bangalore and other places provide research scholars, facilities to do research as part of the programme. Selection of candidates for admission to Mysore university Ph.D. is based on entrance test and interview conducted by the university. Candidates who have completed M.Phil course and possess national level fellowships are exempted  from the entrance test.

Mysore University PhD Entrance Exam Eligibility:-

1) Candidates who have secured at least, a) 55% of aggregate marks for General Merit candidates b) 50% for OBC candidates and c) 45% for SC/ST/Cat-1/PC/transgender, in their Master's Degree or equivalent examination from the recognized Universities/Institutions (See section No.5 in page No.4 in the Ph.D Regulation 2017.) are eligible to apply.

2)  The candidates should satisfy the other eligibility conditions that are stipulated in the regulations.
3) Candidates who are currently pursuing their Master's Degree at Final Year, may also apply.
Exemptions -
Candidates who have qualified JRF fellowships/Lecturership through UGC/CSIRNET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR/SLET(KSET)GATE and M.Phil are exempted from Entrance test. 

Mysore University PhD Entrance Exam 2023 Pattern:-

The question papers for all subjects contain 2 parts.
Part—A: Contains 50 objective type questions of one Mark each.
Part-B: Contains Essay type/short answer questions for 50 Marks. Duration of the examination will be 3(three) hours. Both part-A and part-B put together are evaluated for 100 marks.

Application Fee -

a) General Merit candidates Rs. 1000/- per subject.
b) SC/ST/Cat-1/PC/transgender candidates Rs. 400/- per subject. 
Candidates are allowed to apply for only two subjects.
Payment of fee should be made through Online mode only.
