Founded in the year 1995, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Akkulam is managed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. It is sponsored by Southern Air Command, Thiruvananthapuram.

If there are any possible vacancies in other classes it will be notified in the school office by the end of March every year.
