Studychoice Assistant (OSA) is such a test and an interactive tool that gives users insights into our program and to the decisive question if this is the right program for you. We highly recommend doing the LAS OSA before applying and handing in the confirmation with your application: http://www.osa.uni-freiburg.de/las.
Please send your application and the documents listed above to:
Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg

The complete application must be received by July 15th (closing date) for the following winter semester. Please note: As starting the Liberal Arts and Sciences program is only possible in October, there is only one yearly application date.

 2. Selection

Step 01 – Preliminary Selection-The first part of the selection process focusses on your academic achievements.

Step 2 – Interview- All EU applicants are ranked according to the (converted) grade of the higher education entrance qualification. UCF interviews at approximately twice the number of people for whom we have places in the Liberal Arts and Sciences program.

Step 3 – Final Selection- For the final selection, your higher education entrance qualification grade is modified by the interview score and, if applicable, other achievements. The result is the “selection score” (the lower the better!):

Applications are again ranked according to the selection score. Following a final decision by the Rector, the acceptance and rejection letters are then sent out by the University’s Registration Office. Places that are not taken up by successful candidates are then offered to previously rejected applicants according to their ranking (“Nachrückverfahren”). This procedure may take some weeks for candidates lower on the list.

 3. Further Information

Letters of acceptance and further information concerning the matriculation are sent by Mail by mid-August. It is therefore essential as part of your application that you provide an address where you can be reached during August.

 4. Transfer students

However, the popularity of Freiburg for prospective students can make finding an apartment or room quite time-consuming, especially before the start of the academic terms.
